Theft of motor vehicle - Hedge Way, Clayton

🚨 Community Alert – Theft of Motor Vehicle 🚨

We’ve received a report of a motor vehicle theft on Hedge Way, Clayton.  Overnight on Sunday 3rd May 0100hrs -0130hrs. The vehicle a Toyota Land Cruiser was locked and believed to be secure, with no obvious signs of forced entry. The method used is unknown at this stage. The vehicle has now been recovered.

This type of theft may involve keyless entry signal interference.

To help protect your vehicle, please consider the following:

• Use a Faraday pouch or box to store your car keys at home and when out – this blocks signals criminals may try to clone
• Store keys away from doors, windows and letterboxes
• If possible, disable keyless entry via your vehicle settings
• Use additional physical security such as steering wheel locks
• Park in a garage or well‑lit area and use CCTV where available
• Never leave spare keys inside the vehicle
